Siskin or a speculative study on the possibility of a language of plants is a project that comprises a performance, a video and a series of screenshot photographs. The project started with a performance, in the form of a lecture, that the artist presented at Picasso's museum in Barcelona in which she introduced the topic of a possible language of plants as a rigorous academic and scientific discovery.
This series of photographs are a selection made by the artist of the images generated by the visual translation app on her phone that she used to translate a Russian botanical book. To her surprise, when she placed the device on the images of the book, certain words showed up, as if the plants wanted to speak.
From the series "First cubist results of the automatic translation of plants form to Russian to English".

A conversation between Anna Dot and Bombon's gallery director Joana Roda in which they talk about the artist's work and the project presented at Liste:
Anna Dot’s projects focus on translation and communication processes, paying special attention to the processes of reading and writing as well as digital technologies. She often uses tools that explore texts as if it was a cumulative technology. Her practice is not restricted to one technique or material. Instead, it adapts to the conceptual particularities of the process, which is usually motivated by an initial question that she attempts to explore by means of the artistic practice.
