With a background in sociology, Bjerre works formally with sociological phenomena in the form of sculptures and installations that often have a coherence with their surroundings. She uses observations from everyday life and is concerned with how the viewer sees and experiences their surroundings. The spatial consciousness as well as the surrounding society are often included in Bjerre's practice.

Lisa's Chickens (Farm Life), consists of 50 balloon chickens filled with helium. Written underneath the foot of each chicken is one of the 50 most popular girl’s names in the country where the work is being exhibited. Playing on the notion of “chicks”, the work comments on the treatment of women, and their role in society and history overall.
