Sea, which can't be seen from the coast
In this series by Mostafa Sarabi, we see five paintings that all together have created a wide horizon; Looking at them, we become more aware of the role and meaning of the distance itself in his works. Like the characters in his paintings, we are far apart and talking to each other. It is in all respects and thoroughly the “farther and farther” that means here. He fabricates a man and a woman in a place that is, as he says, a field for planting pea in the foot of Zagros mountains.

Balice Hertling is pleased to present new paintings by the Iranian artist Mostafa Sarabi. Sarabi makes paintings on canvas and board that are symbolic and poetic, executed in a naive style. He was born in 1983 in Iran. Sarabi lives and works in Tehran, where he did his MA in painting at Shahed University.
