Gala Berger (Villa Gesell, Argentina, 1983) is a visual artist and curator, currently based between Lima and Toronto. Her work rethinks different issues related to cultural heritage, non-human agents and the narratives around extractive activities within Latin America. She also investigates how notions of memory can be transformed through historical revisions and the multiple forms that social repair processes can take. Berger's work is strongly based on community creation. She is co-founder of several independent spaces in different Latin American cities: Casa MA in Costa Rica, experimental museum La Ene, in Buenos Aires, Paraguay Printed Art Fair, among others.
